This body of work delves into the intricate interplay between technology, the human form and body, and the concept of entropy. Entropic Bodies is an exploration of the digital realm as both a canvas and a mirror, where I have employed artificial intelligence to abstract and distort the human form only to subject it to the controlled chaos of glitches and corruptions. This process speaks to the evolving relationship between humanity and technology. It reflects our increasing reliance on AI systems to interpret and reshape our understanding of ourselves in our bodies. Using AI algorithms to abstract the human figure, I embrace the idea that technology can offer new perspectives to age-old subjects, often unveiling beauty and unexpected and unconventional ways. The act of deliberately corrupting these abstracted bodies is a metaphorical confrontation with the inevitable decay and impermanence that define our existence.
Through these visual glitches, I also question our obsession with perfection and the utopian ideals we often attach to the digital realm. Moreover, this process reflects the fragility of the digital medium itself. It reminds us of the potential for error, vulnerability, and unpredictability that underlies our increasingly digital lives. Entropic body seeks to challenge conventional notions of body, perfection, and instability while highlighting the profound interconnectedness between humans and technology. It prompts the viewers to contemplate the implications of our digital age where the boundaries between the real and virtual are ever-blurring and where our quest for control and order is constantly challenged by the forces of chaos and chance.
